Hop on the Band Wagon Or Should I Say Cart?

The Stand
Come ‘n get em! Hot dogs with nacho cheese; need I say more?

Sheri Chrissis, or as students like to call her “hot dog lady”, is the owner of the best hospitality and hotdogs in town.
Sheri’s food cart sits on the corner of 13th and Kincaid on the edge of the University of Oregon campus.

Born in Colorado, this hot dog goddess moved to Eugene, Oregon as a young girl. Little did she know that years later she would become the face of the food cart One Bad Dog. In 2006, Sheri took over the stand and carried on the tradition of Cookie Szakarzs, creator and original owner, to sell dogs with more fixin’s than the lights section in Home Depot.

“Hotdogs. That’s just what it is!,” says Sheri when asked about the food she sells to University of Oregon students.

With two types of dogs, four kinds of mustard, ketchup, nacho cheese, onions, two types of relish, sauerkraut, jalapeƱos, chili, a variety of hot sauces, and a dash of love there is a hotdog for just about anyone (unless your one of those damn vegetarians then you should try your luck else where).

Shelby Camp Eating a DawgOver thirty-one years, One Bad Dawg has proven itself to be the Phil Knight of food carts in this town. “You can’t beat a $3.50 American classic done right. You Just Can’t!,” says University of Oregon student Shelby Camp who often pays a visit to “hot dog lady” for lunch.

But biting into one bad dog is not the only reason that keeps students coming back for more; Sheri’s mother-like mannerism is what makes these dogs like no other. When you are served a hot dog from Sheri there is no reason why you shouldn't walk away with a smile.

“She may as well be the nicest person in Eugene; no I take that back, the world,” comments Andrew Johnson, local hotdog enthusiast and student at the University of Oregon, after ordering a ketchup and mustard classic from Sheri.

Food carts are an up and coming item in the restaurant industry, and with Sheri’s smile and delectable dogs One Bad Dawg is here to stay.

My DawgSo if you are a meat lover, on a budget, are homesick, have hunger pains, or just want a damn good hotdog head over to One Bad Dawg Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to around 3:00 p.m.. Who knows you might even be a lucky dawg like me and have a mustard, ketchup, nacho cheese, and onion on the house!

Hot Dog Lady's Hot Dogs Are Totally Worth it!
